UUM Holdings Sdn. Bhd., together with its group of subsidiary companies, successfully organised the First Aid, CPR and Workplace Ergonomics Handling Program at the Seminar Room of the University Health Centre (PKU), Universiti Utara Malaysia. The programme, held from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m., gathered active participation from staff across various departments and subsidiaries under UUM Holdings.

The objective of this programme was to enhance awareness and competency among employees in managing emergency situations, while also promoting the importance of healthy working posture and ergonomic practices in the workplace. These skills are essential to ensure a safer, more productive, and responsive work environment with reduced risk of injury.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Nurul Asiah and an experienced team from PKU UUM, who provided clear explanations and practical demonstrations on basic first aid procedures, proper Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques, and methods for handling critical emergency situations. Participants were also introduced to appropriate ergonomic techniques aimed at reducing the risk of muscle and skeletal injuries caused by incorrect working positions.

Throughout the session, participants had the opportunity to practise CPR, learn how to identify minor injuries, and understand the emergency protocols that must be followed before medical assistance arrives. This interactive sharing not only boosted the participants’ confidence but also reinforced the awareness that every individual plays a vital role in ensuring workplace safety.

This programme is part of UUM Holdings’ continuous efforts to cultivate a healthy, safe, and high-quality working culture. It also reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the well-being of its employees through training, education, and capacity-building activities.

UUM Holdings extends its appreciation to PKU UUM for their strong cooperation and expertise, as well as to all staff who took the time to participate in this valuable programme. The company hopes that the knowledge and skills gained will be applied and serve as added value in enhancing workplace safety.
